In the summer of 2014, I was in a car crash that I was sure would take my life. Shaking but alive and thankful, I walked out of my totaled vehicle..but not without injury. This is my personal story about fighting the odds; about never surrendering to the physical, emotional, and mental pain. No matter the cause or the consistency, we are resilient. I was on my way to a yoga class the morning my little Honda Accord was hit by a car twice its size, and it’s yoga that I’ve continued to practice everyday since. It sustains me. It keeps my heart open, my headspace clear, my soul present, and it keeps my body strong even on a day where the pain is unbearable. Pain, it can make us feel distorted, but yoga is the magic that not only grounds us, it helps us to uncover layers of ourselves that reveal the person we’re meant to be. I can happily state that I’ve discovered part of my purpose, and it’s to become a yoga teacher so I can help as many people as possible with their personal pain. I begin Yoga Teacher Training in the fall and I invite you to join me on this journey. Namaste.
